About

Luminere Systems started as a collaboration between University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University, and University of New South Wales, with funding from the Defense Innovation Network, to develop modular optical quantum communication devices.

Today, Luminere Systems is an independent business committed to developing functional photonic-enabled hardware and helping industry produce innovative research outcomes and embrace fast-growing opportunities in the global photonics market.

Luminere Systems is owned by Adam Bennet, a laser optics technician, who has been building photonic-enabled technologies for 15 years. Luminere Systems is results-driven, specialising in design and production of prototype optical systems including optical spectrometers, high-power lasers, experimental photonic quantum infrastructure, opto-mechanical devices, and design for production and manufacture for real-world applications.

Adam has previously worked in commercial settings as a research and development engineer (Agilent Technologies, Defendtex), he has worked in academic settings as a post-doctoral researcher (Griffith University, Oxford University, and Macquarie University), and he has worked in start-up settings as a co-founder and consultant (EMU Quantum, Luminere Systems, and ORCA Computing).

Adam holds a PhD in optical quantum information science from Griffith University, QLD, and his interests include quantum foundations, nonlinear optics, light-matter interactions, and solid-state lasers.
